I use Ghostery, a chrome and firefox add on which tells you and blocks all those annoying trackers.

One more also thing : turn off referers, This will surely stop website surf to from understanding.

I just recently started paying attention to tracking. It is kind of underhanded that sites tracks.
I bet it is not against the law either. I feel like that is information they should pay for.
